The third chakra, Manipura, is located below the diaphragm in the area known as the solar plexus. This chakra is concerned with our ego, mental thoughts and our personal power.
On a physical level, Manipura regulates the digestive system and our body temperature.
Manipura governs over our mental body including self-confidence, life ambitions, mental drive, logical thinking and our ego.
When Manipura is blocked, we become over-sensitive and perceive the reactions of others as criticisms of ourselves. Our inner critic starts to rule our mind and we start losing self-worth and self-respect.
This way of thinking depletes our confidence and leaves us in a constant mindset of being judged negatively, resulting in us having anxiety and emotional stress.

On the contrary, an overactive solar plexus chakra can cause a person to strive excessively for ambition, money, personal power and recognition, leaving them unaware of the damages they are doing to themselves and the people around them.
A balanced Manipura embodies self-awareness of our own thoughts and actions. We are able to accept responsibility and be confident in our abilities.
We can take on criticism in a positive light and not seek validation or approval from others. Our inner strength empowers us to go for our dreams and achieve our goals within healthy limits.
If Manipura needs to be activated, yellow crystals such as citrine, amber and tiger’s eye are very useful.
However, if Manipura energy needs to be toned down, green crystals will balance it out.
